Recovery: Patients usually are required to wear an external splint over the nose for one week, but discomfort is generally minimal. Although most patients are physically able to return to work after a few days, some elect to stay home until the splint is removed. Patients typically return to work within a few days to a week, but must avoid strenuous activity for a month. Swelling and bruising are normal, but will dissipate over gradually over time.
